In the world of operational security, every second counts. But there are moments when it’s not just decisions that matter, but also the preparation and the right protective gear. This is one of those moments—when technology saved a life.

César Iglesias, Deputy Operations Manager at Fortius, shared with us a critical incident that took place in November 2024.

During a routine operation, one of his teammates was involved in a firefight. In the middle of the exchange, he took a direct bullet hit to the chest. Fortunately, it did not end in tragedy. Thanks to the bulletproof vest he was wearing, the round was stopped, and his life was saved.
